Actor James McAvoy is best known for his roles in action movies such as Wanted and this summer's mutant blockbuster X-Men: First Class. The actor's latest project is far from an action movie, and it isn't even live-action. James McAvoy lends his voice to the title character in Aardman Animation's Arthur Christmas, which is currently playing in theaters across the country. Arthur is Santa's son, a young man who doesn't quite fit into the immense high-tech operation at the North Pole, which is run by his older brother, Steve (Hugh Laurie). When a child's present does not get delivered, Arthur sets off with Grand-Santa (Bill Nighy) in an old-fashioned sleigh and reindeer, to deliver the present, and make sure that child will still believe in Christmas.
I recently had the chance to speak with James McAvoy via satellite about his role in Arthur Christmas. Click on our exclusive video interview below to see what he had to say about this new holiday classic, plus new tidbits on an X-Men: First Class sequel.
