Hot News: James Earl Jones Will Not Return for Any Future 'Star Wars' Projects

While its entirely possible that we haven't seen the last of Darth Vader, especially with his shadow looming large over a small band of freedom fighters in the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels, James Earl Jones, the man behind the voice of this iconic sci-fi villain, claims he is done with the character.

Talking with Variety in support of the filmed release of the Driving Miss Daisy stage revival, James Earl Jones had this to say about returning to that galaxy far, far away.

"Oh no. I've got no illusions that I will or even hankerings to be in them, but I'm very proud to have been part of the original."

Will he at least see the new Star Wars: Episode VII?

"Perhaps. I have no idea where they'll go with it, but I hope they sustain the success of the first ones and do it well."

Its well known that Darth Vader (spoiler alert!) met his demise in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. And his Force Ghost is now played by Hayden Christensen. So it wouldn't make any sense for James Earl Jones to return in the new trilogy. But the stand-alone movies are a different story.

The Untitled Star Wars Han Solo Spin-Off and Untitled Star Wars Boba Fett Spin-Off likely take place during a time when Darth Vader was still alive. And Darth was Boba's employer for a stint. If the galaxy's most feared villain is going to return to the big screen, it will be here.

On the TV side of things, it was reported a while back that there would be two Darth Vader TV Specials leading up to the launch of Star Wars Rebels, but we haven't heard anything in regards to that in over a year. Darth will probably be a part of Star Wars Rebels, but it looks like he may be getting a new, younger voice. Or, James Earl Jones just hasn't been asked back yet.

The actor did recently play himself in an episode of The Big Bang Theory, where he was joined by fellow co-star Carrie Fisher. Will he really end his Star Wars legacy on that note?

Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars Gwendoline Christie, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Domhnall Gleeson, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

'Sin City 2' Storyboards Featuring Original Frank Miller Art

Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For co-director also happens to be an accomplished comic book and graphic novel artist, so it makes sense that Frank Miller would have created the storyboards for this sequel. Yahoo has a look at 10 pages from the script, which depicts one of the key action set pieces from the movie featuring Marv, Nancy and Little Miho as Dallas and the Goons attempt to take them down. Check out these blue prints for what promises to be one of the most exciting scenes in any summer movie coming out this year.

'The Blind Side' Director Boards Lenny Dykstra Biopic

The Blind Side director John Lee Hancock is reuniting with producer Gil Netter for yet another sports drama, with this project based on the life of former Major League Baseball star Lenny Dykstra.

No plot details were given, and it isn't known if a screenwriter is attached at this time. It isn't known if the project will focus on his playing days, or his well-documented problems off the field, after he retired from the game. Lenny Dykstra's professional playing career began in 1985 with the New York Mets, and he was an instrumental part in their 1986 World Series win, where his hard-nosed style of play earned him the nickname "Nails." He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1989, where he played until his last professional season in 1996. He briefly attempted a comeback at spring training in 1998, before he officially retired at the age of 35.

Lenny Dykstra was the subject of many financial investigations after his retirement, which included failed enterprises such as a car wash in Simi Valley, California, which he sold in 2007, a jet charter company and a magazine which was aimed at professional athletes. He filed for bankruptcy in 2009, and was forced to auction off his World Series ring. The former player was found guilty on charges of bankruptcy fraud, concealment of assets and money laundering in 2012, when he was sentenced to six months in prison, 500 hours of community service and ordered to pay $ 200,000 in restitution.

In an interview following his release from prison last summer, Lenny Dykstra revealed that Gil Netter had purchased his life rights for a feature film, suggesting that either Matt Damon or Mark Wahlberg portray him on the big screen.

John Lee Hancock most recently directed Saving Mr. Banks, and he made his feature directorial debut with another baseball-themed movie, 2002's The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid.

Latest News: Martin Luther King Jr. Biopic 'Selma' Adds Tim Roth

Tim Roth has signed on to join the growing cast of Selma, portraying the Alabama governor George Wallace.

The plot centers on the historic march from Selma, Alabama to the state capitol in Montgomery, lead by civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo). When the march was first organized, Governor Wallace, who was in favor of segregation, vowed to stop it. After the first wave of marchers were beaten by his Alabama state troopers, protesters of all races came flooding into the region, which ultimately lead to President Lyndon B. Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) signing the Civil Rights Act, which gave African-Americans the right to vote.

Carmen Ejogo, Andre Holland, Omar J. Dorsey, Tessa Thompson and Colman Domingo round out the supporting cast of this historical period piece.

Ava DuVernay is directing from a script she co-wrote with Paul Webb, with Plan B's Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner producing alongside Ava DuVernay, Christian Colson and Oprah Winfrey.

Tim Roth most recently starred in Broken and the upcoming Grace of Monaco.

Selma comes to theaters in 2014 and stars David Oyelowo, Tom Wilkinson, Carmen Ejogo, Andre Holland, Omar J. Dorsey, Tessa Thompson, Colman Domingo, Tim Roth. The film is directed by Ava DuVernay.
