Kristen Stewart Circling, Viggo Mortensen Joins Snow White and the Huntsman

Kristen Stewart is in talks and Viggo Mortensen joins Snow White and the Huntsman

Kristen Stewart is circling the role of Snow White and Viggo Mortensen has signed on to play the Huntsman in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, reports Heat Vision.

Director Rupert Sanders is in deep casting mode, and has gone through a series of screen tests with such actresses as Riley Keough, Felicity Jones and Alicia Vikander. Emily Browning tested this past weekend. Kristen Stewart is one name they keep coming back to.

An original retelling of the Grimm fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman centers on the huntsman (who, in the original fairy tale, is supposed to kill Snow White but ends up letting her go) becomes her protector and a mentor of sorts as they try to escape from the evil queen who ordered her death. Charlize Theron is in negotiations to play the evil queen.

The film is set to shoot sometime this summer for a Dec. 21, 2012, release.

Snow White and the Huntsman comes to theaters December 21st, 2012 and stars Viggo Mortensen. The film is directed by Rupert Sanders.

The Hobbit Delayed While Peter Jackson Recovers from Surgery

Filming on The Hobbit has hit another delay as director Peter Jackson was admitted to a New Zealand hospital with acute stomach pains, reports Heat Vision.

Peter Jackson underwent surgery Wednesday night for a perforated ulcer, according to a statement from the production. He is said to be resting comfortably, and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

"Sir Peter's surgery is not expected to impact on his directing commitment to The Hobbit beyond a slight delay to the start of filming."

Filming was scheduled to start sometime next month.

The Hobbit comes to theaters November 2012 and stars Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Ron Perlman, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Doug Jones, Ken Stott.

Van Morrison At The Movies: Soundtrack Hits

If Hollywood's marriage with pop music is too often a marketing-driven shotgun affair, there remain musicians whose artistry can't help but elevate whatever film project they're associated with. This 19-track compendium underscores that notion, gathering a career-spanning collection of the Irish rock-R&B legend's contributions to an eclectic body of films that stretches from Pope of Greenwich Village's effusive early solo hit "Jackie Wilson Said" to the unlikely live collaboration with Roger Waters on "Comfortably Numb" that seasons Martin Scorsese's Oscar-nominated The Departed. The collection serves as a concise primer to the high points of Van Morrison's mercurial career, from the gritty career-breakout hits ("Gloria," "Baby Please Don'
