Batwing Suffers Major Accident On Set of The Dark Knight Rises!

There has been another major accident on the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises. While shooting this Saturday, August 13, the Batwing, a new air vehicle that will be seen in the movie, went off course during filming and hit a huge street lamp, which demolished the entire right side of the craft. According to reports, Christopher Nolan only has one Batwing to work with. It took a large crew more than an hour to fix the damage done to the Batwing, and they reshot the same scene a second time without the crash. No actors or IMAX cameras were hurt in this incident. The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

The Barefoot Bandit Gets $1.3 Million Deal with 20th Century Fox

20 year old Colton Harris-Moore, known to most as The Barefoot Bandit, went on a two-year crime spree during his teens that ended with him crashing a plane he learned to fly himself.

20th Century Fox has picked up his life rights for $ 1.3 million, and Oscar-winning Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black is penning a screenplay about his exploits.

Colton Harris-Moore will not profit from the deal, as all $ 1.3 million will go to paying the victims he criminalized, to which he owes $ 1.4 million in restitution. The deal covers movie and ancillary rights.

Colton Harris-Moore had this to say about selling his story rights to 20th Century Fox.

"I did things that were not only a violation of law, but also of trust. I can't undo what I did. I can only try to make things better. I am humbled to know I can now help the people I hurt, at least for the financial damage I caused them. I have absolutely zero interest in profiting from any of this and I won't make a dime off it. It all goes to restitution. That's what I insisted on from the beginning and the contract I signed guarantees it."

There is no set production start date on The Barefoot Bandit.

The Terrorist Search Engine Gets Writer Oren Moverman

Oren Moverman, writer and director of the critically acclaimed drama The Messenger, will write the screenplay for Sony Pictures' The Terrorist Search Engine.

This true-life drama, which is being set up as a star vehicle for The Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg, chronicles baby-faced counter-terrorism expert Evan Kohlmann, who is known as the Doogie Howser, M.D. of terrorism. By the age of 23, Evan Kohlmann was able to deliver convincing testimony that led to the conviction of almost two-dozen defendants on terrorism charges.

Oren Moverman is writing the screenplay with an eye to direct, but the studio hasn't made that official at this time.

The Terrorist Search Engine comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Jesse Eisenberg.
