Actress Jeri Ryan, who starred in the immensely popular Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short as Sonja Blade, has signed onto reprise that same role in the Mortal Kombat web series. Here's what she had to say last night over her Twitter account.
We reported last month that Warner Premiere was making a 10-episode web series based on the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short. Michael Jai White will also return as Jax and Kevin Tancharoen will direct the episodes. Todd Helbing and Aaron Helbing are writing the scripts along with Kevin Tancharoen.
Mortal Kombat will center on a group of world-renowned warriors who band together to save the world from the nefarious Shang Tsung. The web series will premiere sometime this spring, although an exact release date has not been given.
