Adam Scott Will Play John Cusack's Son in Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Many wondered how Adam Scott's new character would fit in to the Hot Tub Time Machine 2 story, after we reported in May that the actor is replacing Hot Tub Time Machine star John Cusack. Rob Corddry revealed during a recent interview who Adam Scott is playing, and when the comedy sequel takes place.

"There's no Cusack so that I'd say is a huge difference. Adam Scott is playing his son from 10 years in the future, his son that was conceived in 1986 on the night with Jenny Stedmeyer."

Rob Corddry returns with Clark Duke and Craig Robinson from the original, and the actor revealed that the characters have improved time travel skills this time around.

"It's a lot different. We go 10 years into the future and we don't hit the same beats like a lot of sequels do, but we hit certain jokes or set pieces that have the spirit of certain things that were really popular on the first one. I think it's way funnier and I think it's more focused in that we found it already. We had no idea what we were doing on the first one. It just came out as this weird sort of anarchy comedy, things you don't usually get away with when you tell a story. So this one we were able to capitalize on that."

He also revealed that his character Lou is now incredibly wealthy, after tampering with time at the end of the first movie, changing Google to Lougle.

"Lou is a billionaire a billion times over and practically owns New Orleans."

It isn't known when production is starting on this follow-up directed by Steve Pink.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is in development and stars Adam Scott, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry, Clark Duke, Chevy Chase. The film is directed by Steve Pink.
