The Spongebob Squarepants Movie 2 Sets Up Shop in Savannah, Georgia

The City of Savannah Film Office announced today that The Spongebob Squarepants Movie 2 will be shooting in the area this fall. Production is expected to take place from September through November. Here's what Savannah Film Services Director Jay Self said in a statement.

"Spongebob is a very successful international franchise and we are very excited to be working with Paramount on this project. This is a good fit for us and them. We know from experience how valuable the investment and exposure generated by a project like this can be for our community."

SpongeBob SquarePants voice cast members Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Mr. Lawrence, and Carolyn Lawrence are reprising their roles from the TV series. We first reported on the sequel back in February 2012, when Paramount Pictures announced they planned on releasing this sequel to The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in late 2014.

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie 2 is in development and stars Clancy Brown, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Mr. Lawrence, Carolyn Lawrence. The film is directed by Paul Tibbitt.
