Will The Black Widow get her own solo adventure on the big screen? She just might, if Marvel's Kevin Feige has his way about it.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be the third time Scarlett Johansson has portrayed Natasha Romanoff, the assassin otherwise known as Black Widow, in a Marvel movie following her debut in Iron Man 2 and her much more substantial role in Marvel's The Avengers. But talk of a standalone film hasn't ever really materialized. Now, in an interview with Total Film, Marvel president Kevin Feige has confirmed that a Black Widow solo adventure is still in development.
He also confirms that the character will play a very big part in the storyline of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and that she has a solid future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.
Kevin Feige then went onto reiterate how much of an impact Captain America: The Winter Soldier will have on the Avengers: Age of Ultron storyline, and that repercussions will ripple throughout Marvel Phase Three.
Are you excited about The Black Widow standalone adventure? Or do you think the character is better suited as a sidekick in other Marvel movies?
The Black Widow comes to theaters in 2018 and stars Scarlett Johansson. The film is directed by David Hayter.
