Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds Join Big Eyes

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds have joined the cast of Big Eyes for producer Tim Burton and directors Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.

The project is based on the true story of artists Margaret Keane and Walter Keane, whose bizarre paintings featuring large eyes were beloved across the world in the 1960s. The film will center on how Margaret Keane was the true artist behind the paintings, and how Walter Keane stole all the credit for her work.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski will direct from their own screenplay, with Tim Burton producing alongside Electric City Entertainment's Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof. Here's what Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski had to say about the casting.

"We are ecstatic to have this dream cast for our dream project. Walter is a larger-than-life antihero -- charming, funny, dangerous, and a little crazy. Ryan will knock it out of the park. As for Reese, she will be perfect as Margaret -- soulful, decent, transforming from vulnerability to learning to fight for herself."

Production is scheduled to begin sometime this spring.

Big Eyes is in development and stars Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Reynolds. The film is directed by Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski.

Latest News: Bermuda Lands at WWE Studios

WWE Studios announced today it has secured the rights to Bermuda, a found footage horror spec script by Bobby Lee Darby and Nathan Brookes. WWE Studios beat out a number of bidders for the film. Set in the Bermuda Triangle, the story focuses on a documentary film crew that goes missing and the only trace of their disappearance comes when their film footage, chronicling their final terrifying days, is found.

"The Bermuda Triangle has always been an intriguing and mysterious setting," said WWE Studios President Michael Luisi. "Bobby's script puts a very unique spin on the found footage genre," added Luisi.

Darby and Brookes previously penned Slaughter, an homage to the Japanese cult horror genre which won the Horror Screenplay Competition at Slamdance in 2007.

Darby and Brookes are repped by Chris Sablan at Original Artists and Jonathan Hung at Hung Entertainment. Bradley Buchanan, VP of Business and Legal Affairs, and Richard Lowell, Senior Director of Development, negotiated on behalf of WWE Studios.

The Amazing Spider-Man Japanese Press Conference Video
