Latest News: Matt Damon Backs Out of Directorial Debut

Matt Damon backs out of directorial debut

Back in October, Actor Matt Damon had set up his directorial debut at Warner Bros. with an untitled drama co-written by The Office's John Krasinski based on a concept he developed with Dave Eggers.

Today, it has been announced that Matt Damon is stepping away from this project as a director, of which he was also set to co-star in. Story details have been slim, but the screenplay revolves around a salesman who moves to a small town, only to be met with disdain from the locals.

Matt Damon backed away from the director's seat due to certain issues he was having with the script, which he co-wrote with John Krasinski. It is possible that the actor will still appear in this project, which has a purported budget of $ 12 million. What is unclear is whether or not Warner Bros. will continue to move forward on this drama with Damon no longer in the driver's seat.
