Michael Fassbender Boards Cuchulain Project

Michael Fassbender joins Cuchulain project

Actor Michael Fassbender and screenwriter Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies) are teaming up for an untitled drama based on the legendary Celtic warrior Cuchulain.

The project will be set in Northern Ireland and is based on the Ulster Cycle, a series of Irish legends that date back to the 8th Century. The story will revolve around King Conchobar, and his Uliad Tribe's conflict with Queen Mebh's Conchatta Tribe. The most famous of these tales is the Cattle Raid of Cooley, where Cuchulain managed to fend off an entire army sent to steal Conchobar's prized white bull.

Michael Fassbender and Ronan Bennett have raised developmental funds through Finn McCool Films, although no other studio is attached to the proejct. Both Michael Fassbender and Ronan Bennett originally hail from Northern Ireland.

No production schedule was set for this untitled Cuchulain project.
