Latest News: Juliette Binoche Eyes Godzilla

Juliette Binoche is in talks to join Godzilla

Juliette Binoche is in talks to join the cast of Legendary Entertainment's Godzilla reboot for director Gareth Edwards (Monsters).

Aaron Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are still in negotiations to star, but no character details have been revealed quite yet. We reported earlier this month that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is also in talks to join the cast.

Gareth Edwards is directing from a screenplay that is currently being rewritten by The Walking Dead creator Frank Darabont. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Rises) and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) wrote previous drafts of the script. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, and Mary Parent are producing for Legendary.

We reported in December that production was scheduled to begin in March, but that was before Frank Darabont came aboard last month to rewrite the script. Our report from earlier this month indicated that Legendary wanted to get its cast secured in order for production to start on time, but it hasn't been confirmed that they are still aiming to begin shooting next month.

Juliette Binoche most recently starred in last year's Cosmopolis, alongside Robert Pattinson.

Godzilla comes to theaters May 16th, 2014 and stars Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards.
