Goosebumps Adds Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush


Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush have landed lead roles alongside Jack Black in the upcoming Goosebumps adaptation.

Jack Black is playing Mr. Shivers, a character modeled after Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, whose demonic characters are set free from his mind by a ventriloquist dummy named Slappy. Dylan Minnette plays a young man named Zach Cooper, who relocates with his family from New York to Greendale, Maryland, moving in next door to Mr. Shivers and his niece Hannah (Odeya Rush). Zach and Hannah are forced to team up to find a way to stop these evil creatures. R.L. Stine's Goosebumps book series have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide.

Rob Letterman is directing from a script most recently worked on by Darren Lemke. Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia) and Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Monopoly) worked on previous versions of the screenplay. Neal H. Moritz is producing alongside Deborah Forte from Scholastic Entertainment, which publishes the books. No production schedule was given.

Dylan Minnette most recently starred in Prisoners and Labor Day. He will next be seen in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Odeya Rush's previous credits include The Odd Life of Timothy Green, We Are What We Are and the upcoming movie The Giver.

Goosebumps is in development and stars Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush. The film is directed by Rob Letterman.
